5 darkening reasons why you are still shy of solar energy

why we don't use solar panel
Solar energy is a cheap source of power. You need to pay a huge amount to install its system. But it is a one-time payment buy solar panels. They take energy from the sun and store it for your usage.

After that you can generate electricity through the sun forever without any cost to meet your energy needs.

After covering the initial cost of your solar panel your rate of return remains 100 percent till the end of its service life.

Reasons for the rise in demand for solar energy

People are interested in the solar energy source of power for the following reasons.
  • The cost of conventional energy is higher in their area and they want to save money by shifting to solar power
  • There is a crisis or shortage of conventional energy in their area and they want to try solar energy to avoid frequent power outages
  • They know that conventional energy generation requires a lot of burning of fossil fuel that devastates our environment. So being environment-friendly they want to use any green energy and solar energy is one of them.

But despite these three clear reasons for looking at solar energy to meet their power need why people are still not using it all over the world.

In an advanced country like the USA hardly 5% of energy needs are met by solar. The US plans to meet 10 percent of energy needs by 2025. So the rest of the world is still far behind it and hardly 2 to 3 percent energy needs in the whole world are met with solar technology.

5 reasons for avoiding solar energy

People avoid solar power usage in place of conventional energy all over the world. Its reasons are given below:

Confusion on cost

This is obviously the main reason why people are not switching to solar energy. People have a lot of confusion about the cost factor. Its reasons are;
  • There are no uniform prices of any type of solar panel all over the world
  • Their marketing and distribution cost is quite higher
  • Solar equipment for homes are costlier because despite being small they equally need the same technology that bigger units require
  • There is no transparent system of wholesale and retail. So, in most cases, the manufacturer directly sells solar equipment on exorbitant rates
  • There is no proper regulatory mechanism in most of the countries to set and control their prices.

Complexity

People don’t have basic information about the equipment of solar power generation. They think it may be hi-tech thing and people need to know rocket science to get it installed and then operate. That is why people brush aside this idea before going for it.

No branding

If you want to buy a car you have several brands to select the one. For every electronic item, you have several brands that you can trust and select one of your choices.

But in solar technology there is no branding despite several years after its introduction. People have to technically examine the features and benefits before buying the one. That is why most people don’t consider it a good option.

Ambiguity in sales promotion

Several types of campaigns are simultaneously going on all over the world to promote this type of green energy. So, owing to the lack of synch in their efforts the end result is not quite good.

Usually, three groups are launching promotional campaigns to popularize solar energy to achieve their goals.
  • The top of the list is solar energy equipment manufacturers. Their campaigns are product-centric. They are simply marketing the features of their products without knowing the basic awareness level of the people to whom they are marketing their products.
  • The second group is governments that are just convincing people to shift on solar energy so that the prevailing energy crisis may be combated. Their ultimate objective is to control the shortage of conventional energy.
  • Green activists, who are just promoting this type of energy to save the environment because of the generation of conventional energy needs a lot of burning of fossil fuel.

Shortage of manpower

In the solar energy sector, there is a shortage of manpower. That is why it is still complicated and complete user-friendliness in this technology has yet to come.

In a slight span of forty years, computer-related technology has become a household name. But despite ten years since it was formally introduced solar energy is still a complicated thing because it is being simplified at a very slow pace.

Its reason is the lack of research and development in this field because of the slow pace of growth in its manpower. Energy professionals are obviously still shy to join this field because the demand for this technology has yet to take momentum owing to a persistent slowdown in it.
