How many deaths by pollution in 2012?

number of people die of pollution
No one to ascertain the number of deaths by pollution occurred in 2012. A German organization already issued the total count of deaths by natural disaster this year that come out to be 12,000. How many people died of terrorism has earlier been released by the different terror-ridden countries separately and obviously their total number would be the global losses of life. However, no any forum or outfit has released so far the devastation done by the environmental degradation to human life in outgoing year.
Though yearly estimates of the devastation by pollution to human life for different countries are available but there is no any yardstick to calculate its exact number at the global level. It was published in the beginning of this year that alone in London the total number of human casualties due to the air pollution may reach up to 5,000 because of the rising pressure of traffic. In poor countries this rate is more alarming and there is strong possibility that every second death in poor countries of Africa and Asia is because of any kind of pollution.

40 per cent natural deaths because of pollution

It is widely agreed that out of total number of human casualties occurred in a year nearly 40 per cent are caused by any form of the environmental damage.
According to rough estimates, nearly 50 million people pass away in the world every year because of the difference natural and unnatural causes. If we take its 40 percent it comes to be 20 million deaths per year by pollution all around the world. Obviously the direct causes of these deaths are several diseases but most of them are actually caused by this grey menace.

Water and air pollutions are main cause

Water pollution and air pollution are the main killers all around the world. Both of them take the life of the victim slowly. That is why pollution is called the deadliest slow poison of the world. If someone drinks polluted water for at least ten years consistently he/she is bound to pass away because of the water pollution. However, initially he/she would fall prey to any water-borne disease and thereafter embrace the ugly existence of extinction from this world.
Air pollution equally plays havoc to human life with the same quantum but its effects appear little early. Lungs cancer is the main diseases caused by the air emissions. Asthma is the second lethal disease that may also lead to the end of life if it is not treated properly.

Land pollution equally hits life

Besides land pollution also spread several fatal diseases like cholera, malaria, typhoid, dysentery, infections and more importantly all types of hepatitis. But this type of pollution remains their covert cause. Several other secondary causes like unhygienic condition, swarming of mosquitoes and lack of cleanliness are mainly attributed to the land-pollution-related diseases.

It is time to act against pollution

We discuss on pages over pages the extent of the devastation by the pollution but the need of the hour is to stand up and join together to mitigate this menace as much as we can. Here is a simple step to play our role to fight against the rising level of pollution in our beautiful planet earth.
We can put the word healthy in our each activity like healthy living, healthy eating, healthy travelling and even a healthy life style. Whatever we do to protect our health actually equally protect the environment. We walk and contribute less in traffic pollution. We consume less and ultimately generate less garbage. We travel less and use fuel-based transport less. So this is the only contribution we can make to make our world little free from all types of pollution.
