Top five effects of water pollution on life

how pollution harms water
Top five effects of water pollution directly harm the human beings and animals more particularly and the overall environment in general. With the passage of the time the intensity of each of them is growing enormously. Each of them is playing havoc with the life and environment. Death rate due to water pollution is on the rise.
These top five effects of water pollution are given below.

Water-borne diseases

Water pollution is the main cause of several water-borne diseases. Effluent of the industries and waste water of the houses mostly mix into the water bodies without being treated. It is happening in most of the developing countries.
Developed countries are also not fully safe from this environmental malpractice. In the backward countries this type of polluting is common. As a result this violation mainly contaminates the water. Consequently several harmful bacteria grow in the water. Besides, chemical waste, agriculture run-off, oil spill, thermal waste water also pollute the water. Most of the bacteria related diseases are called water-borne disease. These are typhoid, intestinal disorder, kidney stone, pancreas stone, kidney infection, urinal problems, and excretive disorders.

Water-related diseases

Water-related diseases are not the direct outcome of the water pollution. But its one of the main causes is contamination in water. There are several infectious agents which spend most part of their life in water. If such water is consumed by human beings or they come in direct contact with it they may suffer from such types of diseases. Diseases like malaria and dengue fever are the two main diseases which are called water-related diseases. Moreover, picnickers on beach come in direct contact with the coastal pollution and suffer from skin allergy and eye irritation type of minor diseases.

Malnutrition

Sea food is one of the main sources of our food. Agriculture run-off including pesticide and chemical fertilizer, industrial effluent, civic waste water, dumping of chemical waste and oil spills mainly cause sea pollution. As a result sea life receives big hit. It either finishes or gets infected with poisonous effects of the sea pollutants. Ultimately it loses nutrient value and human beings consume sea food of polluted water and do not consume original amount of the nutrients from them.

Food-related diseases

Some water pollutants make the water quite harmful for living beings. If these pollutants affect the sea water then sea species get infected by these harmful effects. Similarly animals also drink polluted water from lake, rivers and streams. As a result both sea species and animals suffer from various water-borne diseases mostly related to animals. Eventually we eat sea food, meat of the animals and drink the milk of various mammals. There are reports that consumption of the meat of animals infected by water-borne diseases is equally harmful for the human beings. It causes various digestive disorders and gastro related indispositions.

Loss of biodiversity

Loss of biodiversity is the biggest threat to this universe. It is feared that if various species keep on extinguishing on the same pace then a day would come when we the human beings have to directly face this threat. Therefore it is must to contain biodiversity which means retaining the variety of life as broad as possible. Hundreds of various living beings and plants have been extinguished from this world. Now sea pollution is a direct threat to the marine life. Various kinds of the precious sea species have vanished because of the persistent pollutants in the sea. Therefore, it is one of the fearful effects of water pollution on life and its diversity.
So these are the top 5 effects of water pollution on life. Do you feel any other effect most dangerous equally. Please share your thoughts in comments below.
